Siberian Bluethroat

The Siberian Bluethroat is a small, vibrantly colored songbird known for its stunning blue and orange-red throat patch. Males display a bright ultramarine-blue throat with a central rusty-orange or white spot (varies by subspecies), bordered by black and white bands. Females are plainer, with a streaked brown appearance and a faint whitish throat. These birds are highly migratory, breeding in Arctic tundra and boreal wetlands across Siberia, Scandinavia, and Alaska, then wintering in South-East Asia (Bangladesh, India, Nepal) and the Middle East. Habitat & Behavior: Breeds in willow thickets, damp meadows, and shrubby tundra, Winters in marshes, reedbeds, and forest edges. Diet: Insects, spiders, and berries. Song: A rich, melodious warble mixed with mimicry of other birds.
